What is Intermittent Fasting?

Intermittent fasting (IF) is another tool used to tackle high insulin levels in the body, whereby you eat within a certain window of the day only – and fast for the rest of the time. IF works best on the Keto diet because fat keeps you fuller for longer than carbohydrates. This will help you reach Ketosis faster while improving your overall health and, in turn, supporting weight loss. Most people follow the 16:8 IF rule, eating within an 8-hour window and fasting for 16 hours.

Others only eat one meal a day, but this all boils down to personal preference. We’re all different, and what worked for a friend might not be right for you. Regardless, there are countless benefits of intermittent fasting which are backed by research. It’s important to do your homework and come to your own conclusion!

When your body becomes fat-adapted, you will no longer experience hunger pangs – meaning overeating will be a thing of the past. While IF does present some common challenges at first, such as hunger, this too shall pass.
